Here at Indie Schmarm, we try to do our best to spread good news about good artists. When I heard one of my favorite bands, The Locust, were victims of a massive robbery this weekend, I was crushed. They had played a show in St. Louis recently when their van was broken into and their personal belongings were stolen. Computers, iPods, clothes, cash, keys, passports, medications, toiletries, everything and anything was taken in the middle of the night.
This is a devastating blow to the band because they are mid-tour and it is very difficult for them to recover, particularly Justin Pearson (vocalist/bassist) who lost his laptop that was holding a great deal of financial data regarding his record label, Three One G.
Those with Paypal accounts are encouraged to donate via Three One G’s paypal account, which is heylisten@threeoneg.com, or you can make a check or money order out to three one G records, or Justin Pearson, or even well concealed cash to:
31G
P.O. Box 178262
San Diego, CA 92177
The band appreciates any and all donations you can make. Your donation would not only help The Locust, but also help Three One G to continue putting out albums from some really amazing, under the radar, post-punk bands. Please help these guys out! They are really great people and no band who is in the true sense of the word “indie” should have to go through such a crushing blow in mid-tour.
An official relief site has been set up, www.threeoneg.com/relief. So please visit the site, and if you can give a donation, I know they would really appreciate this. It is almost Christmas and it would be in good spirits to give a donation if you can do one. I know I am personally sending $50 dollars of my own money, which is a lot when you’re going broke, to help a band that has given me so much more.
Thank you in advance!
Loren.

I’ve never felt so compelled to give money to them more than now, especially after all the free songs they’ve given out- especially Russian Compound. I hope this doesn’t f up the guys to the point of breaking up temporarily.

loren ( i write on this sometimes )
actually, it sounds like they are making a quick comeback. i have been talking to the members back and forth via myspace, and they said that the fans are giving so much support, they aren’t too worried. i guess they are going to continue the tour and i think they are going to be able to balance things until they return and get shit back on track.
but don’t stop giving… they still could use it, they aren’t 100%.
thanks reader.
