About Tank Farm Futures Sound:
TankFarm Future Sounds is a unique partnership with a visionary philosophy rooted in an appreciation for great new music and an ambition to help spread the word about up-and-coming artists that are usually not yet on people’s radar in the music industry. It began in March 2003 as a mix tape for friends of Larry Little, a San Francisco-based music manager and DJ. Eventually, music industry insiders caught wind of this filter for new music and the requests for copies started to flood in, giving birth to the first “official” Future Sounds compilation. Selecting tracks for all Future Sounds compilations is completely organic process not affected by politics or favors within the music industry. They are songs that stood out to Larry Little from a large pile of demos, EP’s, imports, and mp3’s because of…well, the music.
In early 2007, Future Sounds found a natural partner in TankFarm Clothing, which shares a similar musical background and a philosophy rooted in the underground, with the added benefit of bringing a unique design aesthetic to the compilations, while effectively taking Future Sounds to a whole new level of visibility. Tankfarm Future Sounds has now become a monthly compilation of up-and-comers with a circulation of 7500 copies each month, which are distributed throughout the music industry, as well as in over 1200 retail locations (including Nordstroms, Kitson American Rag, Lisa Kline, Atrium and hundreds of fashion boutiques across the country) as a complimentary gift with purchase. The goal is for consumers to be introduced to new artists, who they would not know about otherwise.
Both the scope and awareness of Tankfarm Future Sounds has been steadily growing, with a new partnership with Myspace Records and with Billboard now featuring TankFarm Future Sounds, calling it a “super-trifecta of fashion, music and people who love both.” In October 2007, TankFarm Future Sounds will continue to support artists they love in new ways by presenting Shout Out Louds’ US Tour with fellow Swedes Johnossi, and Myspace Records’ darlings Nico Vega.

Hi there readers. Someone already left a comment and won this, but apparently the site decided to delete the comment on its own accord. So I leave this comment to let you know that and to test it and see if it does it again. You win the first round Indie Schmarm, but the battle has just begun.
